Dr. Joe Hage’s career spans more than 35 years of experience in organizational leadership, operations, administration, finance, information technology, and management consulting. He has held positions in executive leadership, software development, project management, product management, business development, consulting, sales, and marketing. Dr. Hage has a global acumen having worked in the United States, Canada, the Middle East, and other international markets. He is a seasoned entrepreneur with executive experience in private and publicly traded companies. He has a proven record in starting up and scaling organizations from the ground up, attracting and retaining talented individuals, and building results-oriented success-driven teams.
Currently, Dr. Hage is a management consultant with the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Iraq Office working on various initiatives and projects. He was Associate Chief Information Officer at the American University of Beirut (AUB), a leading provider of education and healthcare services in the Middle East. He was also a venture partner specialized in the software sector at PacRim Venture Partners, a private venture capital fund in Silicon Valley, USA.
Prior to AUB, Dr. Hage was chief executive officer of eSharing, an information technology products and solutions company, providing customers with enterprise application solutions. Prior to joining eSharing, he spent nine years at Agile Software (acquired by Oracle) where he led the Small and Medium Enterprise Solutions Division as Senior Vice President and General Manager (2003-2006). Before assuming this role, Dr. Hage was Senior Vice President of Products and Technology (2001-2003) and Vice President of Corporate Marketing (1997-2000). Agile’s business focused on product lifecycle management and supply chain management solutions. Prior to Agile, Dr. Hage worked at Starfish Software (acquired by Motorola) where he led the product development unit that developed Java-based enterprise applications for collaboration, scheduling, and directory services (acquired by Yahoo!). Previously, he also held positions at Novell, Borland, Prime Computer, Data General, and Honeywell in the United States, Canada, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Lebanon.
